Green Generation

Sustainable Development

A concrete commitment to a better future.

Talking about sustainable development in the construction market means reducing as much as possible the impact on the environment of one of the main human activities. Starting from the general problems, such as the increasingly worrying phenomenon of land consumption, to get to the more particular ones, like ensuring the physiological well-being of people both in the urban agglomeration in confined spaces

In the coming years, urban renovation measures and the ability to influence existing buildings to reduce excess energy consumption and improve material knowledge will become increasingly important. Today we are committed to sustainable building on two main points:

1. provide for the use of raw materials and manufactured products which, in their production, reduce negative environmental impacts;

2. to optimise and improve solutions for the restoration of existing buildings, to reduce excess energy consumption and to improve the usability of spaces through greater insulation of them.

Green Generation Project

Thanks to the Green Generation project, Isolmant R&D has carried out in recent years in-depth studies on the possibility of making a biological polyethylene foam cross-linked with non-fossil derivation.

With this activity Isolmant today undertakes, in accordance with the provisions and requirements of the 2030 Agenda, to include in its production materials for sound insulation made with a raw material of non-fossil origin.
Responsible sourcing of sustainable materials supports the contribution to the bioeconomy without changing the production process or the performance/technical characteristics of the materials.

The research supported by our engineers has confirmed the achievement, for products made with polyethylene of non-fossil derivation, of the same technical qualities, performance and durability of the respective fossil based products.

The principles of Green Generation project:

•  Continuous research on raw materials: use of modern raw materials and alternatives to fossil sources;
Optimisation of the supply chain of raw materials: soil protection, recovery of raw materials without deforestation, use of renewable sources not competing with food crops;
Sustainable supply chain: local supply, certification of raw materials, processes and products;
• Reduction of emissions: reduction of CO2 and consumption of non-renewable energy.

Certified Sustainable Production

ISCC is a world-leading certification system that aims to contribute to the implementation of environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production and use of all types of biomass in global supply chains.

The ISCC certification confirms the highest sustainability requirements for the production, logistics and distribution chain of Isolmant. It also certifies the entire supply chain to guarantee the sustainable sourcing of raw materials made from non-fossil sources, or from bio-renewable materialcircular resulting from crop waste without deforestation and not competing with the food chain.

Optimising production processes for sustainable development

Our polyethylene Isolmant R Series is made with the use of processing residues from other production chains that otherwise would not return value.

Through the optimization of other production processes it is possible to recover useful waste that are transformed into precious materials without deforestation and without using products intended for the food industry.

These processing residues are subjected to a normal polymerization process to arrive at the production of a "natural" plastic material that is derived from renewable raw materials with non-fossil origin
